My name is Fabian W. Peise, M.A.
I completed my studies in Berlin, specializing in medieval history,
art history, and classical archaeology.
My main focus was on the codicology and palaeography of the
Middle Ages and the early modern period.
During my studies, I had the privilege of being instructed in the art of transcription by Prof. Dr.
Wolfgang Milde, the renowned head of the Manuscript Department at the Herzog August Library,
at the Seminar for Medieval Latin Philology at the Freie Universität of Berlin.
Under his guidance, I acquired the finely nuanced techniques required to decipher and transcribe
manuscripts accurately.
Since 2002, I have been working as a palaeographer, primarily dedicated to deciphering German-language
manuscripts from various centuries. This fascinating endeavor allows me to contribute to academic
research projects and editions. Additionally, I have had the pleasure of advising private collectors
on the classification and evaluation of their valuable manuscripts.
With my extensive experience in the field of palaeography, I can ensure that these precious documents
are interpreted and understood appropriately. My passion for codicology and palaeography drives me to
make a valuable contribution to the exploration and preservation of our cultural heritage.
